It is often said that story, characters, graphics, and gameplay are what make a game--but what about music? When I play pieces like Skyrim, Fallout 3 or even older games like Morrowind, I find myself drawn deep into the universe by way of the game's unique soundtrack. The notes make the combat that more interesting; the flow makes the character interactions that more engaging.
And then there are movies, which, in my opinion, depend more on their music to get their message across than video games do. Movies like Flyboys and Lord of the Rings (all of them) have some really nice music in them.
As you can see, I'm a lover of soundtracks. You could say that I actually get more out of video game soundtracks than what I can get out of 'normal' music developed by actual singers and entertainers.
But I'm curious though: What are you favorite video game and movie soundtracks? Post them here for all to see. They can be complete albums or individual songs. You can also discuss these songs as well.
