YCH/adoptables Auctions

A lot of artists on my FA watch list seem to be doing them these days and honestly I don't get them. I think part of the enjoyment you get out of commissioning should be creativity in what an artist can do with your character with their unique style. Just seems like a bit of a cop-out/moneygrab to me, though not as much as the adoptables...

I've seen artists post four characters up for adoption on a single submission, and they'll just be basic doodles with a palette swap. Come on, show your watchers a little respect and don't treat them like idiots. Then there's the whole issue of copyright law not working in the same way these auctions do.

I don't really like them.

Just an excuse for an artists to charge a lot of money for prettying up a lazy doodle.

If you're gonna do adoptables, please do it right. Don't make a cheap little chibi and recolor it 5 times. Give each one some personality. Use different poses. Give them different expressions. And for god's sake, different features that aren't various markings, tattoos, stripes. Get some creativity going.

It's so fucking lazy and scummy.

Ath's been working on ana adoptable, but I'm sort of okay with it because she's spending so much time on making sure everything lukes perfect. The palette swapped sparkle dog things that I see everywhere are unsettling, to say the least.

And YCH auctions are just fucking lazy.
