There's still a few stragglers here. While I'm not saying abandon this joint completely (obviously I'm not if I'm still checking) please...come to Weasyl's forums. I know you guys probably don't like the FAF regulars, but it was a quick change. It's friendlier, funnier, and much more lighthearted with fun admins and FAF admins that have had a genuine change with attitude.

Even Wolf-Bone enjoys speaking to them (from what it seems) and they don't mind him anymore contrast to the needlessly hostile attitude when his name was brought up on FAF.

There's a few personalities here that will fit in nicely (and that I kinda miss because this place isn't used anymore). It's active with a stable general chat area.

Pretty much everyone has moved to Weasyl, now.

It's being run very well as a forum, problems are quite scarce, and when there are problems they are being handled well.

I suggest people here move over there, it's a bigger community, which means it wont die for a while like this one.

And so with that are the General Time Wasters done? Its sad to see it finally end here especially since some of us have been here since the begining. Its like this forum was the Byzantine Empire. Infact it seems like the whole of the GTW has been like the Roman Civilization. We started as the Roman Monarchy on FAF until we lost it there. The original GTWF, the one that really flourished and was ideal with great admins and an amazingly active user base was our Roman Republic, with over 100,000 posts in forum games alone long before it fell with a user base of less than 30. When it went down on forumer we became the Roman Empire wherein times we waxed and waned until a climax that resulted in the fall of the Western Roman Empire, The General Time Wasters and the Eastern Roman Empire which became the Byzantine Empire, The Grandfurpile.


With that, I think I may join there tomorrow, or later tonight. I dunno.

I know what you mean, I was around from day 1 as well.

Had about a 3 year stunt, if I remember correctly. Problem is nothing can really survive for too long with such a small memberbase. The beginning of GTWF was the most active it ever was, and it really did nothing but dwindle from then on.

It's okay, we're just amalgamating with the Brits.

I am never joining another forum again.
